Cute and Fun Date Ideas (that won’t break the bank!)

It’s February, one of the most romantic times of the year! I personally love Valentine’s Day (even if it is a “Hallmark Holiday”!) and there’s no better way to celebrate it than spending time with the ones you love! Whether you want to go out with your significant other or hang out with your closest friends, here are some great date ideas that prove you don’t have to spend a lot to have fun!

Your Local Zoo

Many zoos are reasonably priced (sometimes even cheaper than going to the movies now!) and some even have special free or reduced price days! In fact, my local zoo has a Valentine’s Day special featuring the cutest animal couples in town! This date is great if you want to get out of the house, and you never know what you’ll see at the exhibits!

Movie Matinee

While going to the movies can be quite expensive recently ($10 for popcorn and a drink?? No thank you!) many smaller theaters, and even sometimes chain movie theaters, have daytime movies for cheap! These movies can range from older classics to underrated indie flicks, but no matter what, a trip to the movies is always a ~chill~ and romantic date!

Painting Custom T-Shirts

This is my favorite date on the list (and my plans for this Valentine’s Day!) Painting custom t-shirts together is a fun and creative date idea that also doesn’t require a lot of money. All you have to do is order t-shirts or sweatshirts, (Amazon is a great place to look for these! Bonus if you have AmazonPrime) buy fabric paint in your favorite colors, and get painting! The possibilities are endless with what you can paint onto your t-shirt. This also makes for a great #twinning outfit!

Local Day-Trip

One underrated fun date is to go on a local day-trip! Scope out some interesting museums and locally known hot-spots in a nearby town, and plan a trip with your favorite person. You might be surprised with what you find! This can be one of the most exciting dates in my opinion, and to amp up the adventure you can always go somewhere you know nothing about without planning beforehand! It’s also a great time for photo ops!

Indoor Camping

Last (but not least!) is indoor camping! You might remember from your childhood building indoor blanket forts and watching movies all day, and this just happens to be a perfect date idea! Switch out apple juice and fruit snacks for your favorite wine and take-out meal, and maybe even roast some marshmallows if you have a fireplace! This is undoubtedly the coziest way to spend time with your significant other, and you don’t even have to change out of pajamas to do it!
